The strategic combination creates a stronger global partner for french fry and potato flake processing solutions.
The group will reach approximately €400 million annual revenues, with a greater global reach, more advanced technical expertise and stronger ability to invest in automation and customer service, with operations across Europe, North America and South Asia.
A leading food processing equipment group held by an independently managed investment company affiliated to Investindustrial, and comprising the Kiremko, Idaho Steel and Reyco brands, has completed the acquisition of 100% of Tummers Group and Van der Giessen, bringing together highly respected specialist companies with complementary capabilities across the potato processing value chain. The acquisition marks an important step in building a stronger global platform for the food processing equipment industry. By combining Kiremko, Idaho Steel and Reyco’s deep expertise in frozen potato processing with Tummers’ expertise in fully integrated potato flake lines, drum drying technology, and related industrial solutions, and Van der Giessen’s expertise in equipment installation and on-site services, the enlarged group is now positioned to offer customers a broader portfolio of solutions, stronger innovation capabilities and expanded global support.
The combination will also accelerate the development of recovery solutions focused on water, waste heat and steam, helping customers improve resource efficiency, reduce energy consumption and lower total cost of ownership, while supporting the industry’s broader need for more sustainable and efficient processing technologies.
Together, the companies will form a broader and more integrated industrial group serving customers across both french fries and potato flakes, with a greater technical expertise and a stronger ability to invest in automation, digital capabilities, global reach, stronger customer service and faster local responsiveness across Europe, North America and Asia.
Gerardo Chiaia, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Group, said:
“Today marks an important milestone for our customers, our associates and our future. With Tummers and Van der Giessen joining Kiremko, Idaho Steel and Reyco, we are bringing together complementary technology players in french fries and potato flakes applications into one stronger global group. Our ambition is clear: to be the partner customers trust for high-quality equipment, innovative solutions, reliable service and long-term value creation across the potato processing industry.”
