Sormac has recently opened its new Fresh Experience Center at its headquarters in Venlo, the Netherlands. At this modern demonstration and knowledge centre processors and industry partners can discover Sormac’s fresh produce processing equipment and test it under realistic operating conditions.
The 700 m² facility combines a production hall with reception and hospitality areas, conference facilities and meeting rooms. It serves as a hub for machine demonstrations, product testing, training and knowledge exchange.
Fresh produce processors can test their own products to assess cutting quality, peeling results, product handling, capacity and yield before selecting a solution. Sormac’s specialists guide these tests and help optimise machine settings. Visitors can also see how individual machines work together in a complete processing line and how each stage influences product quality, efficiency and the final result.
A platform for knowledge exchange
In addition to demonstrations and product testing, the centre will host training sessions, seminars, open days, dealer meetings and other events. Practical and theoretical training will be available for production managers, machine operators and technical teams, covering new developments, trends and applications in fresh produce processing.

Supporting customers throughout the process
The Fresh Experience Center complements Sormac’s existing microbiological laboratory, where critical processing steps are assessed for hygienic design, food safety, product quality and process reliability. Together, the two facilities support customers from research and product testing through to machine demonstrations and the evaluation of complete processing solutions, helping them make informed decisions and optimise their operations.
Its location is another advantage. “Our proximity to the German border and the Ruhr region makes us easily accessible for German customers. Düsseldorf (DUS) and Eindhoven (EIN) airports are also both approximately 40 minutes away, making travel convenient for visitors from around the world,” Lemmen concludes
